25. Does Your Upbringing Determine Your Future? with Nelson Tressler

Nelson Tressler had stigma and shame on him before he was even born. Born to a 15 year old mother who accused a police officer of raping her and later had her father murder this police officer is just the beginning of Nelson’s story. This left Nelson scarred for life with the Tressler name, or so he thought.

Today, Nelson Tressler is a motivational speaker and the author of The Unlucky Sperm Club, as well as the Founder and CEO of IGotSmarter|Goals Elevated. Nelson has used goals and personal development to design a life that he couldn’t have imagined as a child born to a 15-year-old mother. Nelson became the first person in his family to graduate from college, served in the US Air Force, became the top worldwide producer for a top commercial real estate company, and started over 10 businesses including one of the country’s largest privately held Pet Resorts.

In this episode we talk about:

  • Growing up in a poor family

  • Childhood abuse

  • Importance of having contrast in your life

  • Big brother big sister program

  • Crab bucket mentality

  • Embezzlement

  • 2008 great recession

  • And more
